1 1/2 cups flour
3 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp sugar
1 cup plus 2 Tbsp milk
1 egg
3 Tbsp melted butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
fresh blueberries
Sift together dry ingredients then stir in wet. Pour batter by 1/4 cupfuls onto hot griddle and drop 4 or 5 blueberries on top. Brown on both sides. Serve with homemade syrup.
1/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 tsp maple flavoring
1/2 tsp vanilla
Bring first 4 ingredients to low boil in saucepan, reduce heat and continue to simmer for aprox. 7 minutes, stirring frequently. Remove from heat, add flavorings and let stand 10 minutes to thicken.
Serious goodness.

Yum. From the looks of Addie's face, I'd say they were a hit!
BTW, I have Aunt Bunny's recipe for blueberry syrup (goes with her blueberry strada), which is seriously good, and not much more than berries and sugar:
1 c sugar
2 T corn starch
1 c water
1 c frozen blueberries (though I'm sure fresh would be fine)
1 t butter
Combine sugar and corn starch, then add water and bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil for three minutes, stirring constantly. Stir in blueberries and reduce heat; simmer for 8-10 min or until blueberries burst. At last minute, add butter (though you could probably omit this if necessary).
Very easy -- and very tasty!
Ooh, that sounds great! I'll have to give it a try.
